They should add 'markfordelete'. You should really never use disable without 'markfordelete' to remove objects from the game world, unless you plan on enabling them again later.Apparently markfordelete will remove the disabled object from your save games as well, so associated scripts no longer run.The order is, first select the object in console and do markfordeletedisableIt's also smart to try something like modpos z 10on the object to disable before you disable it, to make sure you have the right object selected.

If the object you want to disable is displaced by the above command, then you can safely disable it. Some objects are hard or impossible to select, and doing markfordelete/disable on the wrong item could potentially corrupt your save, or cause bugs later, or something. Also, always do a save or quicksave before trying a disable operation, again because if you mess with the wrong object (like accidentally selecting 000014 in third person and running disable on it, hehe) you can reload and try again. Yes, like I said, unless you intend to enable the object again. That probably won't lead to issues assuming people are correct when they say that scripts continue to run on objects when you disable them. However, when you 'disable' the wrong object, sometimes you are effecting an object you can't even see, so there's no telling what might happen as a result, even if you immediately re-enable it.As a rule, if I interact via console with anything that I didn't intend to touch, I reload the quicksave just to be safe. Maybe there won't be any problems, but without the GECK and more info, there's no way to be sure yet. Also, I use markfordelete first just in case the game crashes or something else happens that makes me lose the selected object. If I disable it and then lose the ID somehow, I can never select it to mark it for delete.

It's gone visually so can no longer be interacted with. But, it could still be doing stuff. All around, it is a risky thing and I do the whole process very carefully.
