Charon Class Light Frigate

/ Comments off

/QUOTE/QUOTE/QUOTEIt takes the ones in the bridge to bring it up. Then to charge it. In the time they are pulling it up plus charge there is already a barrage of missles coming and the Charon is moving to take evasive maneuvers/QUOTEit takes a few seconds at most, the frigate would have little time to react/QUOTE/QUOTE/QUOTE/QUOTE/QUOTEHow much damage can an F-Spar do? Could it destroy a Frigate with a single shot or several? A Charon class carries 50 Archer pods, each with 30 missiles. That's 1500 missiles it can spam in seconds if necessary, it might not even need to use its MAC.On a side note, I'm so picking up the new COD, actually looks good looking through what's been shown in this thread./QUOTEIt can cut Destroyers and battleships in half, it could do the same to this frigate/QUOTESo it's down to what is basically who shoots first?

Which ship represents Han Solo? Also I think you are have a few /QUOTE typos./QUOTEI dont know whats wrong, but yeah shoots first only the mons has enough point defence and fighters to make missiles almost a none factor. Click to expand. The Olympus Mons was not 'perfectly' intact after it's crash.

We get an aerial view of the ship after it has crashed and while it's still mostly intact you can see that it has crumpled in the middle as the front of the ship is at a different angle and slightly displaced from the rear. I've tried to highlight this by outlining the ship.By comparion the most significant large scale (edit: Externally visible) damage on the Autumn after it crashed are the bent protrusions on the front despite burrowing a sodding great trench into the surface.

Click to expand.Just going by thickness gives us a good idea of what it's capable of, and in space, more armor is a very very good thing. Play Children of a Dead Earth or read up on it because it's about the most realistic space combat game out there.Basically, the main threat in space is (especially against directed energy weapons) is your armor being ablated away and melted away by heat. More armor also assists in preventing penetration - very important in space. The molecular strengthened Titanium-A has a variety of feats attributed to it both in game and in writing. So while we don't know as much about the CoD armor, we can safely assume from thickness alone and the fact that DEW seem to just carve through it that it's inferior to 2 feet of titanium plating. Click to expand. They can, The Commonwealth was accelerating backwards at around 80-100million kilometers an hour while firing archers at the covenant ship. The Iroquois was doing slingshots around a planet while it was engaging 3 covenant ships.Pillar of Autumn crossed planetary distances to eneter the battle over reach in a very short time frame. Diablo 2 countess drops. Then it crossed 100 thousand kilometers in minutes to battle a covenant super cruiser.

While dodging near light speed weapons. Most of the times we see the UNSC combat the covenant was the UNSC on the defensive while protecting a planet and its civilians. DEW weapons carves UNSC ships up badly too- for example, pulse lasers from Covenant were powerful to carve through 45cm of Titanium-A battleplate in matter of seconds. Plasma Torps was able to oneshot to twoshot UNSC frigates, while heavier ships with thicker armor (1.5 meters to 2 meters at most, until supercarriers that had more armor) tanked little more before downing.Sure, UNSC frigate can gut Mons but Mons has a giant doom cannon that can hurt the frigate badly too.Still trolling unless you cough the proof up. We know that devs did not state that it had inferior armor. Click to expand.Yes, DEW still carve up UNSC ships badly, but there's a difference between surviving three seconds and dying before you know you've been hit, and surviving 20 seconds and therefore being able to launch all your fucking ordinance in a final 'Fuck you'. Plasma Torps were capable of melting through all that armor, but it still took a few seconds.

Same with pulse lasers. I'm not denying the Frigate isn't killable by the Mons, I'm simply stating that I don't think Mon's DEW is on the same level as a Covvie one. I was talking about the cod ones, not warsIts not trolling, lack of evidence isnt trolling. It was the lead dev of halo wars and it was the stated reason for why the bases needed shieldsThe mons survived extensive bombardment from an entire fleet of warships. A few missiles wont be enoughAverage out at sub kilotonits been said they go at 360,000 mph, less then twice that of the shipsTheir rocket launchers can lock onto fighters so yes its possiblethe videos dont make them look to manouverable due to how everyone is moving relative to each otherAnd it would take seconds to open up or launch fighters to damage itthe crash has been postedlaughable statisticsyour point? The frigate can survive some pd fire but wont survive an F-Spargiven all the speed relative yeah it was pretty impressiveWatch a gameplay video of them tearing apart fightersAnti matter bomb?

As in the same kind used on the stations in halo 2? Should have ripped the autumn apart.its been postedThe ship didint explode or fold like a tin can. Half the ship is practically intact and we don't see the other half. But considering that its not moving or falling off, its other half is probably heavily damaged but in oke piece.because you need to take out every single turret before going for other locations. Shooting at the hull does little to nothingCompared to unsc ships? Yeah they're made of glass.

Hence why they use shieldsBecause that wouldnt be visually appealingLooking pictures of longswords it looks to have 6 100mm+ guns. Also sebres and Broadsword aren't meant to perform anti ship roles.I call bullshit on them carrying any amount of longswords. Theres just no roomthey have armour which deploys over holes when they happenthickness doesnt matterSo your saying hacking can never be used in vs ever?Megatons yet the blast wave never hits the chief or arbiterthats how they work in the gameIt would rip the frigate in half no competitionthickness means nothing when your armours more durableis it not? Seems as though they'd be made of the same thing.

Frigate

What.Oh yes, I'm sure SDF soldiers are going to be able to shoot down this unholy murderswarm of explosive phallic objects.What.Their smallcraft are maneuverable. Their (capital?) ships aren't.So we're giving the Mons the element of surprise and the ability to engage first?I don't suppose you understand just what 1500 Archers are going to do here.We see what 50mm guns do in the setting to fighters. Now, true, just because they're the same bore doesn't mean they are automatically equivalent in terms of damage, but. From an AI's point of view, yes, it would 'take a while'.Different roles.Fine, let's say that the two systems can connect with each other. SDF forces attempt to tap into the frigate's systems. Suddenly they get digitally nut-punched by the angry AI (that is, assuming the frigate has one - not every UNSC ship has an AI). And when it comes to ship takeovers, they still need command codes to access important systems.

Literally fucking what.Source?Tactical rounds. Alternatively, the Spirit of Fire isn't exactly outfitted for ship-vs-ship combat, being more of an atmospheric support vessel than anything else.We didn't see the missiles hit though. The cutscene ends prior to that happening.ALL THE MISSILESThat's. A bit of an understatement.Though SATO doesn't seem to field battleships. It's either DDX destroyers. Well, whatever class of carrier Ret is.

They know all about this and the reason is for gameplay purposes. All the weapons, vehicles, and the ship itself canonically appeared as they did in Halo 3 until Chief links up with the Infinity. What I'd love to know about the Dawn however, is what the SAW was doing on board.

I know the weapon has existed since the Insurrection, but why didn't we use it on the Ark?!(Yes I know it's something that simply didn't exist in Halo 3, but I point you at Reach and all the new shit it introduced despite being set before CE).
