It's a marketing technique to quickly convey the style of sounds in the sound pack.
Speaking as a producer, it's simple categorization. If I want heavily compressed hip-hop drums with a lot of decay, I'm going to open my Anno Domini sound pack. If I want 808s, I got a sound pack for that too. If I want grimy NYC drums, I got that Havoc sound pack he released with the sounds from early Mobb Deep joints. But using these sounds won't make me sound like Anno Domini, Metro Boomin or Hav. Not unless I intentionally try to emulate their style, which would be pointless.
The way that I process them, arrange them, layer them etc will reflect my own sound. Tyler used to make beats using stock sounds and presets from FL Studio and Reason. I think it's fair to say that there was never a point where he sounded unoriginal using those sounds, despite the fact that everyone else with the same software had them too.TLDR - Using sound kits with an artists name atatched isn't stealing their sound, it's brandingEditing to clarify I'm not OP.
