RussiaFrance Ingame Description'Behind all the Imperial facade, and republican sentiments, France is onceagain an abosolute monarchy, now ruled by Emperor Napoleon I. His efforts tosecure good marriages for his brothers and marshals are dynastic politicsthat Bourbon kings would have grasped instantly.

Yet, for all this, theFrench people have freedom, as Napoleon has used credit gained by hisvictories to remake France. Merit, as well as birth, now counts forsomething. The Emperor's efforts have given France an impressive empire and dominationover many neighbours, he is a source of strength. Napoleon has redrawn themap of Europe to suit his own ends. He is also a great weakness, as histreatment of enemies and rivals has not been entirely politic or polite. Hehas caused offence to nearly everyone, taking not giving, even when heshould have been conciliatory. He has managed, through poor diplomacy, tomake the British look like attractive allies to many.As a result, the Austrians are waiting for an opportunity to strike back atFrance for their recent humiliations and losses. The Russians, too, willstrike down this new upstart emperor if given a chance, and will they ignoreNapoleon's instructions to ban trade with England?

The Prussians, apparently, are content to sit and wait, but for how long? Will they idly sit by if itbecomes necessary to extend French power into northern Germany? And thenthere is always the British: always there are the British. That vindictivelittle island will have to be dealt with at some time.France, therefore, faces many rivals. Welcome to!A subreddit for all of those who love the Total War series. Yeah that's because they tackled them the wrong way around. Imagine had they started smaller and done a game like Napoleon first then they move onto something the scale of Empire and everything is pre-refined. Now that would have been a timeless classic.Having said that I never saw Napoleon's size as it's downside it just wasn't comparable to Empire obviously. The terrible AI spamming 2 unit armies was a much bigger problem. Size doesn't really matter as long as you fill it with great content.
